| What a treat for us! My wife and I were visiting our dear friends in Key West. We know that Paul lives in the Keys and hoped he was scheduled to play. Our wish came true in a benefit show which also featured another fav artist, Howard Livingston!! Howard was fantastic and Paul topped a fantastic evening!!! We had seen Paul a couple times with Poco but here we were up close! Indian Summer is just one of THE BEST songs ever!! Thanks so much for continuing to share your timeless music and for you and Caroline taking the time to chat after!! |

| Well, what can I say but amazing. I was lucky enough to see both the Canyon Club (Agoura Hills, CA) January 12th and the Soho (Santa Barbara, CA) January 14th show of Paul Cotton and his live band. I am a big fan of Paul Cotton's songwriting, guitar playing and singing. I think the man has more talent in his pinky finger than most new recording acts today. I like to say I'm a newer fan begining in 1978 with the song "Heart Of The Night" this song has had an effect on my life and proved to be the soundtrack to my first but not last trip to New Orleans a few years ago. I sometimes think back to the late 70's when I first heard the song on AM radio and bought the 45 record. Who would have thought 33 years later I would be enjoying a concert (two concerts) from this tremendous talent up close and personal. A previous fan listed the setlist which was the same and just a tremendous sampiling of Paul's work. I had no idea what to expect. I had seen Poco about 3 times over the last decade. My first thought was that I may miss some of the harmony vocals but that thought was erased from my mind after the opening song of "Under The Gun" I was pleasently suprise with the Buffalo Springfield sampling of songs. As I was sitting and enjoying the show it reminded me of something important "It's all about the music" and "Keeping the music alive" Paul Cotton certainly kept the music alive over the weekend in California. My favorite song performed live from the Canyon Club show was "Bad Weather" just Paul and his beautiful Gretsch guitar. From the Soho show my favorite was "One Long Last Look" from one of his solo projects. I highly recommend you take the time and go see a Paul Cotton show. They often say the combination of talent is what makes a band successful. In this case it is the opposite. Take a lead singer, songwriter, and guitar player out of a band and you have major talent that has been on the sidelines for way too long. Hope you come back to California Paul! |
